Wilkes University electrical engineering majors presented their senior projects and demonstrated them at an event on May 5. It was attended by faculty, friends and family. Engineering students in the University's College of Science and Engineering are required to complete a senior project as part of the requirements to complete their degrees.

National Society of Leadership and Success Inducts more than 180 Kutztown University Students in Spring 2019 Class
More than 180 Kutztown University students have been inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) as part of the Spring 2019 class. To be inducted at KU, students must attend an orientation, a three-hour leadership training seminar, three success networking team meetings and three speaker broadcasts featuring leading figures delivering success-related messages to members.

ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises
A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

Bloomsburg University Board of Governors Program students to graduate
Bloomsburg University's Board of Governors Scholars Program celebrated the graduation of 32 of its members with guest speaker Kristin Austin, a Frederick Douglass Fellow, Teaching and Learning. Michaela Maw, a sophomore sociology and criminal justice major, served as master of ceremony. The Board of Governors Scholar Program targets students who excel academically including students of various races, and students majoring in liberal arts science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Recipients are required to participate in a structured program dedicated to the enhancement of retention and graduation rates.

Lebanon Valley College Announces Campus and Departmental Awards
Lebanon Valley College presented more than 130 students with awards at the Spring Awards and Recognition Ceremony for academic achievement in the natural sciences, social sciences, or humanities during the annual Inquiry celebration. Students were also recognized with campus awards.

East Stroudsburg University's Madelon Powers Gallery will feature art works and portfolios of advanced students in the university art+design department in a Senior Seminar and Portfolio in Art Student Exhibition April 29 -May 8. The exhibition will include works produced by students completing independent study projects and works from selected art+design classes.

Bloomsburg University 2019 Dance Minor Concert
"The Light in the Dark: The 9th Annual Dance Minor Concert" will be held at Bloomsburg University on Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. and Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Carver Hall, Gross Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public. The dance concert features seven pieces, each exploring a unique perspective and theme. The content explored through varied dance styles includes: miscarriage, mental health: depression/anxiety, abusive relationships, standing proudly in your self-essence, suicide, degenerative illness and aging, and consumption/environmental concerns.

2019 Sophomore Expedition
The Sophomore Expedition is a guaranteed study abroad program. In the spring semester of their sophomore year, students participate in a series of classes to prepare them for the trip. Then they spend 8-10 days traveling as a class to an international destination where they participate in a number of service activites. This year they traveled to Athens, Greece.

Theatre Production
The BU Players of Bloomsburg University will be performing "Good Kids" from Feb.27 through March 3 at the Alvina Krause Theatre in Bloomsburg. The production will be directed by Dr. Carrie Winship. Performances are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 3:00pm. All performances at the Alvina Krause Theatre, 226 Center St, in Downtown Bloomsburg. Tickets are Free to BU Students with ID, $6 for Adults, $4 for Students/Seniors. Tickets available in advance at the Haas Center for the Arts Box Office on the campus of Bloomsburg University or at the door starting one hour before curtain. About the Play: GOOD KIDS explores how a sexual assault at a high school party, documented and distributed on social media, shocks the student community and evokes surprisingly varied responses. The recollections and the rumors of the incident incite conflict between the "good kids" in the school community. Cedar Crest College First Year Experience Mentor
Being a FYE Mentor is a dynamic and challenging role for students with leadership skills and desire to work with new students. It is an opportunity to create a positive Cedar Crest college experience and assist with the transition that students face when entering college. Responsibilities include leading new students through the transition to college by helping them understand the challenges of college; connecting them with students, faculty and staff; educating them about academic and co-educational program and services; and exposing them to our rich heritage and traditions centered in women's leadership. FYE Mentors facilitate small groups, assist with resident student move-in, organize programs and schedules and co-teach a College Life course in the fall semester and the Exploring Your Future course in the spring semester.
